OUR PRESCHOOL CO-OP

 

Welcome to Our Preschool Co-op! This inclusive, outdoor program for children ages 18 months to 6 years old is hosted by Shannon Wells, Special Education Teacher and Farmer, at Our Sensory Farm in southern Chesapeake. Our Preschool Co-op is a safe, supportive community for our youngest farm friends and their families to spend time together in nature. This sensory friendly farmventure is an extension of Our Homeschool Co-op and is open to children with all abilities. We hope that you will join us!

Our Preschool Co-op classes offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm are currently full; however, we have plans to host an additional class on Fridays, once we have enough families on our waitlist. To join the waitlist, please fill out the registration form below. Parents/caregivers are asked to be present during the class and are invited to participate in the activities.

There is so much to see and do at Our Sensory Farm. Time with the farm animals! Arts and crafts! Adventure forest! Walking trails! Music and dancing! Nature based play! Sensory activities! Playground and swings! Snack and story time! Fun and Friendship! Our Preschool Co-op offers a patient, accepting space for children and their families to be their true selves and enjoy the great outdoors! Let's play, learn, and grow together in nature!

Classes are $25 each for your first child and $20 for siblings. Chaperones and younger/older siblings who are not participating in the program attend Our Preschool Classes at no additional charge. Payments are due at the beginning of each month and payment can be made online or in person with a check or cash. To register, please complete the form below.

OUR HOMESCHOOL CO-OP

 

This unique nature-based learning experience is a true outdoor educational adventure for learners ages 6-15. Inclusive and engaging themed lessons will be hosted by Shannon Wells, Special Education Teacher and Farmer. 

​

The goal of this differentiated learning experience is to provide specialized instruction, support, and time for academic, social, and emotional growth. Enroll in Our Homeschool Co-op and your learner can expand educational opportunities, enjoy fun, engaging lessons, and connect with others. Parents and caregivers can join in meaningful discussions, discover resources, and collect material for progress checks.

Our Homeschool Co-op classes cross grade and age barriers, so children can relate and interact with others of all ages and abilities, not just their peer group. We encourage our learners and their families to be their true authentic selves as we do our best to support everyone's unique educational journey. Please note that leadership opportunities are available for older learners.

Your family can choose to attend Our Homeschool Co-op classes once a week or every other week on Tuesdays 10 am to 12 pm. Our spring semester is currently full; however, we have created a waitlist for families who are interested in joining when there is space. Please complete the form below to be added to Our Homeschool Co-op waitlist for classes on Tuesdays from 10 am to 12 pm.

Each week, our learners explore a variety of nature-based topics through interactive and differentiated lessons, activities, and games. Our curriculum includes themes such as conservation, gardening, land stewardship, animal care, farm to table processes, problem solving, creative thinking, and more.

​

The cost for each Our Homeschool Co-op class is $35 for your first learner, and we offer a sibling discount of $25 per class for each additional learner in your family. There is no registration fee and monthly billing is available. Your first month will be due upon registration.
